UNRWA: 99% of aid seekers return empty-handed, and some are killed while trying to reach distribution points

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) revealed that 99% of humanitarian aid seekers in the Gaza Strip return without receiving anything, while some of them are killed while trying to reach the distribution points.

Gaza – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

UNRWA confirmed that it was distributing 90% of the aid entering the Strip, stressing that the United Nations system is more effective and transparent in the distribution process, without recording any complaints in this regard.

It indicated its success in reaching one million Palestinians and establishing hundreds of distribution points within hours during the latest ceasefire.

In a related context, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor revealed the death of 1,200 elderly people in Gaza as a result of starvation and deprivation of treatment, warning that thousands more are threatened with death as the Israeli siege continues.

The monitor attributed these deaths to the systematic policy of starvation and deprivation of medical care, which has recently reached its peak.

Gaza is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in modern times, amid UN warnings of a collective famine and a complete collapse of the health and food sectors, with an unprecedented deterioration in the living conditions of the Strip’s residents due to the continued Zionist aggression and siege.
