Reuters reported that the US Navy, with the help of other companies, declined to comment on incidents of failure in confronting unmanned and autonomous boats.

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Reuters announced that America is seeking to build a self-operating naval fleet capable of moving in swarms without human leadership, considering it a key element in countering any potential Chinese advancement.

It clarified that the US Deputy Secretary of Defense expressed doubts in a meeting last month about the feasibility and capabilities of the unmanned boat program, noting that the unit responsible for acquiring autonomous boats in the US Navy experienced a shake-up after the dismissal of its highest-ranking commander.

The agency quoted an expert from the Hudson Institute, stating, “The recent failures of the US Navy highlight the challenges, and the Navy needs to adapt its tactics to the capabilities of new systems.”

It also cited an expert from the Atlantic Council, saying that the US Navy is navigating unknown waters and trying to reshape traditions that have lasted for decades very quickly.
