Gaza Municipality spokesperson Hosni Muhanna said that Israeli shelling caused extensive damage to the Prosthetics and Paralysis Center after targeting adjacent buildings, temporarily halting its operations. The center serves thousands of wounded, amputees, and paralyzed patients.
In press statements, Muhanna emphasized that the center’s suspension exacerbates the suffering of the wounded and people with special needs, who rely on it for care and treatment.
He explained that the damage included collapsed walls and ceilings, destroyed warehouses and equipment, shattered doors and windows, and damaged solar panels, water, and sewage networks.
He added that municipal teams have begun maintenance work despite limited resources, warning that the repeated attacks on Yarmouk Street threaten the continuity of the center’s operations and the lives of patients.
Muhanna called on the international community to take urgent action to protect medical facilities and ensure the entry of supplies.
