Gaza Health: Severe shortage of solutions and life-saving supplies

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip confirmed on Sunday a severe shortage of life-saving solutions and supplies in hospitals within the Israeli-blockaded territory and called for urgent intervention to bring them in.

The ministry said in a statement that “laboratory units and blood banks in hospitals are suffering from a severe shortage of solutions and consumables for life-saving tests.”

It warned that “solutions for blood salt tests, CBC blood gases, and virus tests are unavailable, which hinders the completion of tests for patients and the wounded.”

It confirmed that “the Ministry of Health (in the Gaza Strip), through the World Health Organization, has worked to provide the required supplies, and they are currently available in the organization’s warehouses in the West Bank.”

The ministry called on “the relevant authorities to urgently intervene to complete the necessary coordination to bring in laboratory supplies and facilitate their safe arrival to blood banks in hospitals.”
