Sana’a government: Targeting journalists is a Zionist goal and a systematic attack on media institutions in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, and Yemen
The Sana’a government mourned the journalists who were martyred in the Israeli aggression on the newspapers 26 September and Al-Yemen in the capital Sana’a last Wednesday.
Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The government said in a statement that “targeting journalists while they are performing their noble mission of conveying the truth is a war crime and a flagrant violation of all international laws and norms,” considering this targeting “a desperate attempt to hide the truth and conceal the crimes of the Zionist enemy from world public opinion.”
The statement confirmed that “targeting journalists is a Zionist goal that the enemy has been pursuing through the systematic targeting of media institutions and figures in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, and Yemen.”
The Sana’a government stressed that “these crimes, despite their ugliness and atrocity, will not weaken the Yemeni media’s position in exposing the crimes of the American-Israeli aggression against the peoples of our Islamic nation,” considering them “an additional motivation to redouble efforts and intensify activity across all Yemeni media platforms in confronting the Zionist project.”
The government called for “mobilizing efforts and strengthening media work to confront and combat the Zionist narrative by all means,” holding “the international community and the UN responsible for their silence on these crimes and for not putting an end to them and prosecuting their perpetrators.”
The government called on “free peoples, human rights organizations, and media bodies to take urgent action to condemn these crimes against journalists,” expressing its “absolute solidarity with the families of the 26 September and Yemen newspapers.”
