Israel continues its war on journalists

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) said that journalists in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank continue to face grave risks despite the fragile ceasefire entering its second week.

Two journalists were killed and another was injured in the Gaza Strip, and journalists in the West Bank were subjected to ongoing ا and arrests by the Israeli occupation forces.

While seven journalists were released as part of the ceasefire that took effect on October 10, the committee documented several Israeli violations against Palestinian journalists.

Fourteen foreign journalists were deported, and others were arrested by Israeli authorities while sailing on the Global Flotilla to Gaza.

The Israeli media ban on international journalists entering the Gaza Strip has remained in place since the start of the war, leaving exhausted local journalists the only witnesses to critical developments, raising concerns about transparency and hindering the international community’s efforts to independently assess the situation on the ground.
