Control of the most important Islah camps… The incursion of Emirati factions into Ma’rib, encircling it from two directions
The UAE began an incursion on Wednesday into the outskirts of Ma’rib city, the last stronghold of the Islah in northern Yemen.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Transitional Council media outlets published video clips showing massive forces affiliated with the UAE advancing through the Arin desert on the Shabwa-Ma’rib border.
Earlier today, these factions launched an attack on an Islah factions camp in the area and took control of it, according to the Council’s media.
The camp is considered one of the largest Islah camps and is led by officers who fled during the military confrontations in Ataq two years ago.
The fall of the camp signifies the collapse of the party’s front lines in Ma’rib.
The advance through the Arin desert coincided with other factions encircling the city from the Hadramout desert.
Tribal sources in Shabwa reported that the UAE forces ordered, late on Tuesday evening, three military factions to position themselves on the outskirts of Ma’rib city bordering Hadramout.
These factions include the so-called “Saba Axis,” led by Abdul Latif Al-Qabili Numran, who is close to Saleh’s son, in addition to a brigade from the Shabwa Defense forces and a third faction affiliated with Tariq Saleh.
These forces were deployed via the desert road linking Ma’rib and Hadramout.
These parallel movements indicate that the target is Ma’rib city.
It is worth noting that party leaders expected its fall early in light of developments in the neighboring Hadramout governorate.
The media advisor to Ali Mohsen, Saif Al-Hadhri, stated that arrangements are being made from within Ma’rib to bring it down, in an apparent reference to the factions loyal to the Emirates that have reinforced their presence in recent months.
