Israeli reports: Moves by the Emirati-backed Transitional Council serve “Israel’s” strategy

Reports from “Israeli” research institutes have revealed new regional dimensions to the military movements led by the Emirati-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in southern and eastern Yemen, considering that these developments serve “Israel’s” strategic interests in reshaping the balance of power around the Red Sea.

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

According to a report by the Israeli “Institute for National Security Studies,” the STC forces’ control over Hadramout governorate represents evidence of the collapse of the traditional Saudi-Emirati alliance, as internal conflicts have led to the disintegration of the camp opposing Sana’a.

The report indicates that this reality gives Sana’a’s forces a temporary advantage, but in return it highlights the long-term Emirati project to build a “disciplined southern entity” that controls vital Yemeni coasts and ports.

From an “Israeli” perspective, the report sees the “golden opportunity” lying in the emergence of a southern entity loyal to the Emirates positioned near the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, which could contribute to limiting the hostile Yemeni naval influence on “Israeli” navigation in one of the most important global waterways.

These analyses reinforce what international media reports revealed about secret meetings between representatives of the Transitional Council and Israeli officials, as the British newspaper “The Times” was quoted earlier as saying that these meetings discussed potential recognition of “Israel” in exchange for political and military support for southern secession.

Furthermore, the newspaper “Israel Hayom” stated on talks that included transitional demands for obtaining advanced weapons to confront Sana’a’s forces.

These data indicate a shift in the role of the STC forces from a local player in the Yemeni conflict to a tool in a broader regional project, through which “Israel” and the Emirates seek to redraw the map of influence in the Red Sea, in the face of Yemen, which has become an influential player in regional deterrence equations and a key supporter of the Palestinian resistance.
