The Yemen branch of international terrorist organization Daesh (ISIS) has issued an official statement confirming that its forces are fighting on the side of the Saudi-led coalition, against the Sana’a Forces and Popular Committees (Houthis’ fighters) in Marib province.
The so-called “Islamic State” in Marib Province, said, in a brief statement, broadcast by ISIS platforms, that its militants carry out attacks on the Yemeni army positions in the area of al-Kasra.
The ISIS statement said its fighters had taken control of two positions on the same front.
Tribal sources in Marib had earlier confirmed the arrival of groups of al-Qaeda and ISIS militants to support the forces of the so-called legitimacy against the Sana’a forces.
Houthis are launching attacks from multiple axes towards the city of Marib, the center of the oil rich province and border with Saudi Arabia.
