The West Bank has become a “battlefield”
The Commissioner-General of the Palestine Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, said that the West Bank has become a battlefield, and that ordinary Palestinians are the first to suffer the most.
In a post on the X platform, Lazzarini added that the West Bank is witnessing serious repercussions of the Gaza war, with more than 50 people, including children, reported killed since the start of the Israeli forces operation five weeks ago.
He warned that the destruction of public infrastructure, the bulldozing of roads and the imposition of access restrictions were commonplace.
“People’s lives have been turned upside down, bringing back trauma and loss. About 40,000 people have been forced to flee their homes, especially in refugee camps in the north.”
