Energy-Specialized Website: The Yemeni blockade imposes harsh choices on Israel
The British energy affairs website “Oil Price” revealed that the naval blockade imposed by the Yemeni armed forces on the Red Sea has caused a near-complete paralysis of the port of Eilat belonging to the Israeli enemy entity, placing Tel Aviv in front of difficult choices with far-reaching strategic implications.
Exclusive Follow ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The report explained that the Israeli authorities are facing a real dilemma: either to continue operating the port despite the financial hemorrhage and accumulated losses or to abandon the vital Red Sea corridor completely.
It indicated that the complete closure of the port since the end of 2023, as a result of the cessation of commercial ships from reaching it due to the Yemeni naval attacks, led to the accumulation of debts, the collapse of revenues, and the diminishing economic feasibility of the maritime outlet.
It added that the financial collapse in Eilat reflects the fragility of the entity’s logistical infrastructure in the Red Sea, which is now under enormous and continuous pressure, confirming that this contraction not only threatens the general trade movement but also strikes strategic arteries such as Israeli potash exports and oil flows through the Eilat-Ashkelon pipeline.
The website warned that the repercussions may expand to include the future of Israeli ports and their place on the regional trade map if the naval operations of the Sana’a forces continue at the same pace.
