Taiz | A journalist reveals the extent of Al-Islah corruption in the gas sector at only one station

According to journalistic sources, the cost of gas filling at the Al-Shamaytin station in the first half of the current year 2023 was 1 billion and 432 million rials, exposing the extent of corruption in the Ma’een government’s domestic gas sector in Taiz, southwest Yemen.

Taiz – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The station produced less than 50% of the quantities received from “Safer” through the company’s system, at a price difference of 450 rials as illegal levies per cylinder, while the station redirected the remaining quantities to black market pumps supplying them on the outskirts of Taiz, where each liter was sold through these pumps for at least 750 rials during the first three months, according to journalist Marzouq Yaseen’s Facebook post.

He noted that “despite all attempts to hide work data and cover up the station by the company’s office, where the brother of the company’s office manager acts as a production and control delegate on the station, the incoming and outgoing quantities from the station were matched.

Journalist Yaseen confirmed that the commissions of the alliance factions affiliated with Al-Islah Party “from the station’s corruption amount to no less than 13 million rials during the first six months of the current year, draining the station’s revenues, which is not far from the house of the governor of the presidential council in Taiz, Nabil Shamsan.”
